
BIOGRAPHY
Saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Julian has played with everyone from Shakin Stevens, Gilbert O Sullivan, Paloma Faith, Charlie Watts, Ben E King, Gary US Bonds, to Gerry Marsden and the Eurythmics and also played for the Rolling Stones at the end of their world tour party at Shepherds Bush in London after one of their world tours.
He has also toured with Mike D’abo and Mike Pender from Manfred Man and The Searchers, and Brian Poole from the Tremello’s. Julian has toured around Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and Japan as well as numerous performances in and around Europe and the UK playing his big, smokey distinctive tenor sax sound.
He continues to work globally with Gilbert O Sullivan and Shakin Stevens playing saxophones, flute, chromatic harmonica, blues harmonica, keyboards and percussion and backing vocals. He played with both of these artists on consecutive days on the main ‘Pyramid’ stage at Glastonbury recently and also played with Gilbert at the Royal Albert Hall too.
Julian played with Shaky on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing' programme on Xmas day at 8pm, closing the whole show with a knock out performance of ‘Merry Christmas everyone’, one of Shaky’s four number one hits!
He also recently played for Prince Andrew, and the Duchess of York at Princess Eugenies birthday party with many celebrities attending too including Prince Harry.
Julian also has friends and relatives in the USA and has played with the 'Shot Gun Blues Band' on Bourbon Street in New Orleans to a packed out audience of Jazz fans.
He continues to manage his Jazz outfit the
‘Webster Greaves Trio’ and also works with many bands in and around London and the home counties as well as in Europe and the far East.
